Garry's Royal Satin Marine & RV Cleaner Wax, One Step (12 oz)

You have probably got a bucket, a separate polish, and a wax sitting in the garage right now, left over from the last time you tried to bring a hull or an RV panel back to life. Garry's Royal Satin cuts that down to one bottle. It's a one-step cleaner wax, which means the cleaning and the waxing happen in the same pass instead of two separate products and two separate afternoons.

Why this size, specifically?

The Marine & RV line comes in five sizes, and it's easy to grab the wrong one. The 10 oz is really a trial size. The quart and gallon are built for full boats or fleets. This 12 oz sits in the middle, and it's the one most single-boat owners and RV owners actually reach for season after season, since it's enough for several full treatments without the bulk (or the price) of the quart.

It's also the most flexible bottle in the lineup on surface type. Fiberglass gelcoat, lacquer, and enamel painted surfaces all take this formula the same way, so if your RV has painted panels rather than gelcoat, you're not stuck buying a different product.

On the formula itself

Two things separate this from a standard boat wax:

  • Dual-band UV inhibitors. Most of the damage to a stored boat or RV comes from months of direct sun, not from use. This formula is built to shield against that specifically, rather than just adding shine that fades in a few weeks.
  • A creamy, not gritty, texture. A lot of cleaner waxes rely on mild abrasives to cut through oxidation, which works but can dull gelcoat with repeated use. This one spreads and buffs without that grit, so it's gentler on the surface over repeated seasons.

How to use it

Wash and dry the surface first. Work in the shade, not full sun, since gelcoat and RV panels heat up fast and the product will flash-dry unevenly if it's hot. Spread a thin coat with a soft microfiber pad, section by section, let it haze for 3 to 5 minutes, then buff with a clean microfiber towel. That's the whole process, no separate polishing step beforehand.

One thing worth flagging: keep it off rub rails, unpainted trim, and rubber seals if you can, or wipe it away quickly if it lands there. It's built for gelcoat and painted surfaces, not rubber or vinyl trim.

Common questions

1. Does this actually remove oxidation, or is that overstated?
It handles light surface oxidation and the chalky film that builds up over a season as part of the cleaning step. If a hull has been badly neglected for years, that's a different job, closer to a compounding or heavy restoration product. Think of this as regular-season maintenance, not a rescue for a boat that hasn't been touched in five years.
2. Can I use the automotive version on my boat or this on my car?
No, and it's worth being specific about why. Gelcoat and automotive clear coat aren't the same material, and each formula in the lineup is built around its target surface. Crossing them over won't damage anything, but you won't get the finish or protection life either product is designed to deliver.
3. Where's the SDS?
It's posted on our SDS page for download, and we're happy to email a copy directly if you're keeping documentation on board or with your maintenance kit.
4. Hand or machine?
Hand application with a soft microfiber pad is standard for this size and is what most owners use. If you're doing a larger RV exterior, a dual-action polisher with a foam pad will save time, but it's genuinely optional here, unlike a compound, where a machine matters more.
5. How long between applications?
Boats used regularly in the water, every 4 to 6 weeks through the season. RVs in storage, considerably longer, since sun exposure is the main thing driving reapplication, not use.
6. Will this work on my RV's painted panels, or is it really a boat product?
It's built for both. The formula is the same whether it's going on a fiberglass hull or an enamel-painted RV panel, so this isn't a boat product that happens to work on RVs, it's formulated for both surfaces from the start.
